Infinity & Beyond

Infinity and BeyondCreate the illusion of outer space.  An atmosphere that will stimulate any child’s imagination and take them on great adventures.

  1. Paint wall with base colour.  Let dry 24 hours.

  2. Using 2039 Arcadia apply a band (3 ft.) of 50:50 paint and glaze around the base of walls.

  3. While step 2 is still wet, use 2038 Adventure and apply a horizontal band (3 ft.) of 50:50 paint and glaze about 4 inches above step 2.

  4. Using a stipple or magnetic floor broom blend the 2 colours together by either drawing the top colour down into the bottom or bringing the bottom colour up through the top colour. This will show the blended colours in random peaks and valleys.

  5. While the second band of colour is still wet, use the darkest of the top coat colours and apply a horizontal band all the way to the ceiling of 50:50 paint and glaze.Infinity and Beyond

  6. Using the stipple or floor brush blend the 2 colours together by either drawing the top colour down into the centre or bringing the centre colour up through the top colour. This will show the blended colours in random peaks and valleys.

  7. Using a star shaped stencil, randomly apply stars to ceiling using a medium yellow craft paint.

Rocket Stencil
Stencils are an easy way to create a theme in your child's room. Home Hardware has a large selection of stencils or create your own. Colouring books, graphics on your computer or hand drawing are excellent resources. Once you have chosen your image trace it out with a permanent marker onto a transparency. Cut out with an Exacto knife. To cut stencil pattern move transparency not the Exacto knife. Each colour in the stencil is a different transparency (ie: the flame is one transparency and the rocket ship is another)

Decide placement of rockets on wall. Spray stencil adhesive on the back of flame stencil, using red and yellow paint stencil flame. Place the rocket body stencil in position with adhesive above flame. Spread drywall compound over stencil. Remove stencil. Note: Keep checking back of stencil to ensure drywall compound hasn’t seeped onto back. Simply clean stencil with water, dry and continue on. Once drywall is dry, paint rocket with latex metallic silver craft paint to create the look of space age steel.
